Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Dakota ODP understands, and supports, any athlete that must decline their Dakota ODP State Team invite due to their club team’s participation in the USYS Regional President's Cup event. Your son or daughter will still receive evaluation opportunities from the past Tryouts, Selection Camps, and any of the extra events offered for them to participate.

The Midwest Region ID Camp is an event held in July in which states send their top players from each age group and gender to. (Boys and Girls born during: 2004, ‘05, ‘06, ’07, ’08, ’09 – and boys who are not H.S. seniors this school year, born in 2003) While at camp players will compete for a place on the Midwest Region Team. These teams travel to interregional events and have the chance for selection to the National Training Camp for ODP.

Dakota ODP participants are not guaranteed a place on the State Team, therefore, attending the Tryout event, Selection Camp, and having the opportunity to attend the December ODP Friendlies in KC, or, the Showcase events in Jan and or Feb, are still very unique elite development opportunities for your athlete and their experience. They will still have the chance to train with some of the top players in ND and SD, as well as receive coaching from very knowledgeable and professionally licensed staff members.

Coaches will select their team rosters based on those who have attended Tryouts. Number of teams, or number of players per team, all depend on what players are available for selection. This is not necessarily considered the State Team. This is an opportunity for coaches to see their age group in action against other ODP teams. This event also serves as another opportunity for player evaluation.
